The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) is organizing the "2023 International and Cross-Strait Affairs Seed Camp" to help Taiwanese high school students enrich their civic awareness and strengthen their media literacy skills.

  • To assist Taiwanese high school students in understanding international relations, cross-strait developments, and government policies, the MAC has been conducting the "International and Cross-Strait Affairs Seed Camp" since 2019. This year (2023), the camp focuses on two main themes: civic awareness and media literacy. The camp, consisting of six sessions, is being held in Taoyuan, Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Taichung from July onwards. Each session spans three days and two nights, with over 360 high school students expected to participate.

The camp features expert scholars who engage with participants on topics such as "International Relations and Cross-Strait Developments" and "Media Literacy in the Digital Age." Additionally, students will have the opportunity to visit prominent Taiwanese media organizations, international non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions. Through activities like policy briefings and simulated public hearings, the camp aims to enhance the civic awareness and media literacy skills of young participants.

As of now, two sessions of the camp have been completed, and four more sessions are scheduled to take place in August and September in Kaohsiung, Taichung, and Taipei. We warmly welcome high school students interested in these topics to sign up via the Taiwan International Volunteer Service Association's registration webpage:
